About FAFH

FAFH Consulting was started in 2000 by Paul Kobussen after retiring from Kraft Foods with over thirty years of service.  In mid-2002, Paul was joined by Judy Clark who came from Keebler / Kellogg's with over thirteen years of service.  In 2007, Larry Clark joined the practice.  Larry's brings a broad background in Supply Chain and Finance with past work experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Acco Brands and the Chicago Division of Iron Mountain.

With a straight-forward approach to solving the needs of the each client, FAFH Consulting brings a diverse background including corporate strategic planning, distribution warehouse management, business development, IT project management, integration team leadership and cost to serve study to every project they tackle.

Some key accomplishments ...

   Two large Foodservice Divisions coming together following a corporate acquisition:

  • Handled all broker contracts and distribution activities related to the integration of two large foodservice divisions into a single division

  • Directed common pricing practices and bracket pricing aligned with activity-based costs to serve

  • Generated substantial cost savings annually through consolidated distribution and other efficient practices

  • Executed a new redistribution program for one line of products along with consolidated redistribution  agreements with several key customers

   Large Foodservice manufacturer:

  • Complete review of previous project for accomplishment tracking and follow-up with key accounts

  • Senior management review of the success of the cost to serve program implementation

  • Account calls on large chain headquarters for complete business reviews

   Large Foodservice manufacturer:

  • Preparation for entry into a key account's new internal redistribution warehousing system

  • Supplier Adoption Agreement audit and update to accurately reflect savings opportunities

  • New FOB price list development and implementation

  • Financial analysis to support new program parameters

 

   Mid-size Foodservice Division:

  • Directed consolidation of all foodservice products into six distribution centers providing distributors the option to continue FOB plant direct purchasing or consolidate purchases on a single purchase order and shipment through the distribution centers.

  • Provided a cost to serve analysis for all distributors, identifying for each the optimum sourcing strategy and the corresponding savings.

  • Developed FOB and delivered pricing schedules for all distributors purchasing multiple product categories.

  • Created a freight model for determining freight cost by customer and order size.

  • Developed a customer analysis tool for use by the sales team (internal and external) in order to generate customer specific selling tools including detailed analysis of the new program's benefits specific to the customer


   Small Specialty Foods Company:

  • Provided guidance in establishing updated bracket pricing, aligned with activity-based cost to serve, and executing a redistribution program

  • Implemented a strategic planning process, driving strategy development down to the sales channel and marketing divisions.

  • Conducted a benchmarking study of internal plants vs. key competitors as a basis for directing operations strategy development


   Small company:

  • Provided an overview of the Foodservice channel identifying strategic opportunities
